Bringing Church to the Streets
Welcome to Jesus Booth Ministry! Our mission is to bring the church and the Good News about Jesus Christ directly to the streets. The “Jesus Booth” is a small, ticket-like booth (3’x 3’x8′) designed for one or two people to share information about Jesus in a friendly and approachable way.
How It Works
Each Jesus Booth features a sign that reads “Information about Jesus” at the top. Inside, there’s space for storing a variety of tracts, Bibles, apologetic materials, and books. The bottom half of the booth displays thought-provoking materials to spark conversations about faith and theology. Every Jesus Booth can be customized with different materials to best serve your community.
Our Approach
At Jesus Booth Ministry, we believe in respectful, non-aggressive outreach. Our method is non-threatening and effective because it attracts people who are genuinely curious and ready to learn. Our team members don’t need to be bold or seek out individuals; they simply need to be approachable and ready to share God’s truth with love. We trust the Holy Spirit to guide people to our booth and rely heavily on intercessory prayer.
Our Story
A few years ago, a group of us felt called to start this ministry. We set up our first Jesus Booth at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California—a bustling area filled with shops, restaurants, and street performers. We were delighted by the public’s positive response, especially from non-believers.
Since then, Jesus Booth Ministry has expanded. We now have booths at the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City, California, and in Edinburgh, Scotland. We’re planning to set up more booths in Berkeley, Hollywood, Irvine, Venice Beach, Loyola Marymount University, and UCLA, with the goal of reaching even more communities.
Join Us
The Jesus Booth is easy to set up and transport, fitting into a large satchel that can slide into the back seat or trunk of most vehicles. Our ministry is mobile, making it perfect for various locations, from university campuses to shopping malls and tourist attractions.
For many years Metro Calvary Chapel of Santa Monica successfully operated the Jesus Booth concept, reaching many in the local community. We aim to equip other churches with the skills and information needed to operate their own Jesus Booths. We offer a step-by-step guide, including do’s and don’ts, our mission statement, and all relevant information to get started.

Driving Evangelistic Trends
Pastor Nathan Gunn recognizes that there are many ways to reach people through street evangelism, whether it’s from within a Jesus Booth waiting for divine appointments with passers by, leading a Bible Study at the community center, or listening for prompts from the Holy Spirit to approach people on the street.
Some of the most popular prayer requests center around:
- Health
- Comfort after Losing a Loved One
- Financial Provision
- Wisdom & Guidance
- Family Reconciliation
- Deliverance from Substance Abuse
- Finding a Caring Church Family
Sharing God-given Gifts
God has blessed Pastor Nathan with a variety of artistic talents, including painting. Nathan often sets up his easel on a corner in downtown Oklahoma City, where he paints portraits of Jesus. You’d be amazed at the conversations and opportunities to pray for people that come up as a result.
