For the one who has Jesus as their Savior death is only the birth into eternal life. The Bible explains that we are made up of three parts, the body, the spirit, and the soul. Though our bodies will be destroyed our spirit and soul are eternal and will either be with God forever or without God forever. God made us all in His image as an extension of His glory and to be in eternal relationship with Him. Where we spend forever depends on what we believe in our hearts about His Son Jesus Christ. According to scriptures if we have accepted Him as Lord and Savior of our lives we can indeed be assured we have the guarantee of eternal salvation by His grace.
